Listeners at once is how many people can be connected together, not how many you may have in a day. Past the cap the next listener is refused, so the bill never surprises you.
Community, school, hospital and place of worship stations host here free.
Nonprofit hostingQuestions
- Do I need a card to start?
- No. Your station goes on air at signup and you have 5 days to pay. We email before anything stops.
- How do I pay?
- PayPal anywhere, M-Pesa in Kenya. You top up a balance and each station bills against it monthly.
- What if I stop paying?
- The station stops broadcasting. Your music, playlists, hostname and password are all kept, and it resumes within a minute of you topping up.
- Can I change plan?
- Yes. The new price applies from your next billing period and nothing else changes.
- Can I run two streams on one plan?
- No. One plan is one station. A second stream is a second station, which keeps the bill legible.
- Icecast or SHOUTcast?
- Icecast unless a directory or older software needs SHOUTcast. It decides your address, so it cannot change later.
- Is music licensing included?
- No, and no host can include it. Broadcasting recorded music needs a licence from the collecting societies where you are.
- Is there a contract?
- No. You pay for the month you are in. Stop topping up and it stops.
